Vincent "Vinny" Runco,70,of South Canaan (Formerly of Throop), passed away March 21 following an illness. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed by his large family and numerous friends. Born in Scranton, son of Clement and Rose Valvano Runco, he was the first of ten children. He was a graduate of Throop High School and worked as a very talented independent contractor and was known as "The Boss" AT JR Runco Blacktop Company.  Vinny was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved his hunting trips, watching sports, and a good game of pool.  He embraced the role of being a "girl dad" and loved being with his daughters and granddaughters.  He was also a very devoted brother and son.

Surviving are daughters Dana Kempa and Glenn of Roaring Brook Township, Lisa Runco of Throop, Jennifer Karlavige and Keith of Dickson City,Granddaughters Kaelynn and Allie.  Brothers Rich and Annette, John "Punky", Michael and Robin, Joe and Sue, Mark and Marjorie,Frank and Leigh, Sisters Rose Marie Buckley and Tim,Betty Ann Ketten. Many Nieces and Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother Clem, brother-in-law Gary Ketten and Nephew Corey Buckley.

Those attending funeral mass are asked to go directly to church.
