Thomas J.
Tully Jr.
Feb 29, 1944 — Jul 13, 2026
Throop
Thomas J. Tully, Jr.Thomas (“Tom”) J. Tully, Jr, 82, of Throop passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026 at Geisinger Danville after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Carbondale, he was the son of Thomas and Lucille Tully.Tom is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn ("Evie"); his children, Danielle and her husband, Matt; Christopher and his wife, Cathy; and Jason and his wife, Noelle; and seven grandchildren: Ethan, Jack, Connor, Eden, Maddie, Gavin, and Quinn.Tom is also survived by his three siblings, Mary Lou, Martin, and Denise.
Tom graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. After retiring from the Teamsters, where he worked as a truck driver and dock worker, he continued working at Flowserve. In retirement, he and Evie enjoyed cruising to Bermuda, and Tom found great joy in helping his children and neighbors with home and automotive projects. He was also an enthusiastic "puppysitter" for his many beloved grandpups.Tom could usually be found in his garage, happily tackling one project or another and sharing his wisdom—sometimes acquired after watching hours of YouTube repair videos. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or a tool. If something was broken, Tom would figure out how to fix it. If you wanted to build something, he would provide the plan, the supply list, and be right there beside you to get the job done.
Tom enjoyed Sunday mornings at the flea market, sampling Evie's homemade pies, cakes, cookies, and banana bread, and spending time with Sawyer, his loyal and lovable chocolate lab. Above all, however, Tom cherished time with his grandchildren. Whether they were fishing, spending time at the shooting range, hunting for bargains at the flea market, or simply enjoying a conversation, those moments brought him his greatest happiness
A mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Carlo Acutis Parish at St. Anthony's Church, 215 Rebecca Street, Throop, on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 10:00 am. Friends and family may call at the church from 9:00 a.m.until time of service.
