Obituary

In Loving Memory of Ruth Eileen Perry

Ruth was born March 7, 1936 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Tuesday February 3, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center.  Ruth was just shy of celebrating her 90th birthday.

Ruth was born in Barberton, Ohio and finished her life out at home in Dickson City, Pennsylvania.  She lived a full life of faith, adventure, and creativity.  Her love for God guided her through every season of life, and her faith was something she carried strongly.

She was never afraid of adventure.  In her younger years, Ruth rode dirt bikes and raced in the Powder Puff events at Barberton Speedway.  She loved to travel, moved to many places throughout her life, and especially loved Ireland, which she visited twice.  She had a curious, brave spirit and a love for seeing new places and trying new things.  Ruth had a creative heart.  She spent countless hours sewing, doing arts and crafts, working on puzzles, painting and creating art.  She loved everything sparkly and was rarely seen without her jewelry and rings.  She took pride in her appearance always making sure her hair and makeup were just right.  Organized and detail-oriented, she liked things done a certain way and that was just part of what made her so special.  More than anything, Ruth loved her family.  Ruth found great joy in the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren

She is survived by her children Diane Taylor and her spouse Doug Taylor, Melody Jarrell and her spouse Bill Jarrell; Greg Perry and his spouse Kim Perry; and Jennifer LaFerriere and her spouse Paul Chimock.  She is also survived by her sister Judy Baker, her beloved cat Ella.  Ruth also leaves behind more than forty grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, each of whom she loved deeply.

Ruth had a sweet tooth that matched her sweet nature, she never turned down a dessert or a treat.  She passed down the trait to her children and grandchildren by always having candy ready for them.  She will be remembered for her faith, her adventurous spirit, her creativity, and the unconditional love she had for her family.  We will miss her voice, her laughter, her style and the way she made every family gathering feel complete.  We find comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with the Lord and her loved ones who went before her.  May Ruth now rest in the arms of the Lord and may we find comfort in knowing that her love continues to surround us, and that her spirit lives on in the stories, traditions, and memories she leaves behind.

A celebration of her life will be held from 1PM to 3 PM on Sunday February 15, 2026 at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc. 445 Sanderson St Throop.

Closing Blessing    "God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.  So he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come with Me"
