Rita Fleming passed away peacefully after her battle with C.O.P.D. on Tuesday August 15, at the Scranton Healthcare Center, and went with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 71.  Rita was a beloved daughter of the late Peter J. Rafalko and Frances S. Cigna, born in Scranton, PA.  She attended Dunmore High School and went on to get her cosmetology license from Keystone Beauty School.  Though her path in life may have been challenging, she lived a life filled with faith.  Rita pursued her dreams and found solace in them.  Throughout her journey she demonstrated resilience and persevered through the obstacles she faced, as she did when she overcame a brain aneurism back in 1989.  Lovingly remembered and survived by her sons, Robert J. Golden and wife Lori, Richard P. Gornowicz and wife Samantha, Jason A. Gornowicz and fiancee' Lucy Van Horn.  Her sister Delores A. Casey and husband Frank, brothers Martin P. Rafalko and Peter B. Rafalko and wife Karen.  Several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral mass will be held at SS Anthony and Rocco Parish, 208 Smith St. Dunmore ,PA , on Friday September 1, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.  All those attending mass please go directly to church.
