Richard J. Caria, 84, of Throop passed away peacefully at home.  Born in Throop, he was the son of the late James and Ida Magliocchi Caria.

He was a graduate of Throop High School, class of 1957.  He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1965.  He was employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot until his retirement.

Surviving are 3 nieces, Daryllyn Kuzmiak, Denise Caria and Tina Dutka; Great nieces, great nephews and their families; Several cousins; and best friend of over 40 years, Joe Schwingen.

He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law James and Daryl Caria, and great nephew Michael Kuzmiak.

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to all his compassionate nurses for the exceptional care they provided.

Friends may call Thursday May 2 from 4 to 6 p.m.at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc.445 Sanderson St. Throop.

The funeral services will be held Friday May 3 at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, 215 Rebecca St. Throop
