Mildred "Millie"
Nagy
March 11, 1928 – January 28, 2025
Mildred "Millie" Marushock Nagy, 96, formerly of Throop, passed away peacefully at her home in Covington Township on Tuesday. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary Smakula Marushock. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Julius, in 1976. She was a graduate of Throop High School and worked as a machine operator at Throop Fashions. She was well-known seamstress who could make or sew anything. Later in life, she worked at Boston Market, where she enjoyed meeting and talking with everyone. Mildred loved to bake and was famous for her blueberry cobbler. She enjoyed going to polka dances with her husband and continued to watch Lawrence Welk and polkas on Saturday evenings.
Mildred is survived by two sons: Paul (Mary) of Covington Township (her caregivers for the last five years) and Tom (Vicki) of Jessup; three grandchildren: Brandon Nagy (Elizabeth), Andy Nagy and Jennifer Nagy (fiance' Mark Russell); three great-grandchildren: Ava, Benjamin, and Madilyn Nagy; sister Ilona Westington; sister-in-law- Connie Marushock; brother-in-law Robert Foster; five step-grandchildren Chad Vinansky (Sherry Zielinski), John Joe Viansky (Marissa) Meridith Gonalez (Vinny), Andy Eggert and Scott Eggert (Jamie); and five step-great-grandchildren: Thomas, Luke, Ricky, Mason, and Ella Viansky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and George Marushock; sisters Lucille Marushock, and Evelyn Foster; brother-in-law Robert Westington; and nephews Edward Marushock and Brian Westington.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to MIllie's daughter-in-law, Mary, for her exceptional care and compassion provided over the last few years. We would like to thank Powerback Rehabilitation and Allied Services Home Hospice for their outstanding care of our mother.
Friends may call Monday 4 to 7 p.m.at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc, 445 Sanderson St., Throop. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday
at 9:30 a.m. at blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, 215 Rebecca St., Throop. Interment will follow at St. Cyril's Cemetery, Peckville.
Anyone attending mass is asked to go directly to the church.
In Mildred's honor, anyone attending her funeral is asked to wear something in her favorite color-purple.
