Mary Ann Solensky, 76, of Throop, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 1, at home with her loving husband of 55 years, Jack, by her side.

Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Publik.  She was a 1966 graduate of Old Forge High School and worked as an administrative assistant, retiring from the University of Scranton after 21 years.  One of Mary Ann's greatest pleasures was cooking for her family, preparing everything from French toast to halupki, which her family loved, as well as meals for numerous family and holiday celebrations.  She could often be found outside, enjoying her beautiful pool, with a book in her hand.  Mary Ann also loved playing pinochle-----and winning.  She enjoyed shopping, especially at TJ Maxx and yard sales.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and her last Christmas was especially beautiful, as she was surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; children Karen and Paul Doyle, their children Paul, Jesse, and Madison; JP and Amy Solensky, their daughter Sadie; Wendy and Joe Runco, their sons Sawyer and Stone; and Justin and Jamie Solensky, their children Justin Jr, Tyler, Hayley and husband Tom, their daughter Athena; her sisters Joan Mackowski; Elizabeth and Joseph Badner; and Helen and Gary Vilott; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family and Friends may call from 9:00 a.m.to 10 a.m. on Saturday January 11th at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 215 Rebecca Street,Throop.  A Mass of Remembrance will begin at 10;00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mary Ann's name  to your favorite charity.
