Marlene Liesniesky, 79, a lifelong Throop resident, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2024.

She was the wife of the late Edward Liesniesky, the 'love of her life" who passed away in 2015 after they celebrated 51 years of marriage.  She was the daughter of the late William and Josephine Runco Schaffer.

She enjoyed going to her grandchildren's sporting events, lottery tickets, tic-tacs, her sweets and anything purple.  She was so proud of all their achievements, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  In this she was truly blessed.

She is survived by her two daughters Lisa (Dean) Tallo of Dunmore, with whom she lived with for the last year, and Lori (Jamie) Cortazar of Throop.

Her grandchildren Carly (Robbie), Gina, Lisa, and Carissa Tallo; Jessica (Garth) Tonkin, Kelsey, Jaime, and Krista Cortazar; and her great-grandchildren Cole and Peyton Tonkin and Ej Cortazar.  A brother William Schaffer, nieces , nephews, and cousins.
