Margaret Sadowski

Margaret Sadowski passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Elan Gardens Skilled Nursing. Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Helen Danko Koval. She was a longtime member of Saint Carlo Acutis Parish, (formerly St. Anthony’s Parish), Throop.

Surviving is her loving daughter, Karen Wickel, Scranton, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sadowski, and her son, Edward M. Sadowski. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Chopko, Mary Walsh and Anna Kovatch; and six brothers, George, Michael, Charles, Peter, Andrew and John Koval.

Margaret was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing wonderful holiday feasts for family and friends. She was especially well known for her delicious Christmas cookies and baked goods. She was also an expert seamstress who made beautiful clothing and items for the home.

Margaret was a wonderful conversationalist who could easily talk to anyone about anything. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

Karen would like to acknowledge and thank the nurses, CNAs and entire staff of the fifth floor at Elan Gardens, as well as the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice, for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided to her mother over the past several years and during her recent months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Sept 18, 2026 at St Carlo Acutis Parish at St Anthony's Church, 215 Rebecca St.,Throop at 10 A.M,

A viewing will be held from 9 A.M TO 10 A.M. at the church.
