Obituary

Lois M. Schimes Williams, 85, of North Scranton was called home by the angels on Monday January 30.  She was the daughter of the late Leo and Carolyn Hahn Schimes.  She was the widow of Charles "Dick" Williams who passed away July 7, 2001.  They were married 45 years.  Born in Scranton, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School class of 1955.  Before retiring from the Penn State Book Store, Scranton Campus, she was employed by Service Merchandise in the jewelry department until their closing.  While employed there she was a diamond consultant and earned a "diamond tweezer".  While her children were growing up, she was involved and volunteered in the many sports teams her son was playing for and was in the parents' club of her daughters twirling group for which she sewed and hand made her uniforms and at times for the whole group.

Lois was an extremely devoted mother and grandmother and always put them first never wavering to make them her one and only priority and many times sacrificing her own needs.  She enjoyed crocheting, doing word search puzzles, watching Days of our lives and going to play bingo.  She had a very funny sense of humor and loved to make people smile or laugh.

The family would like to give a special thank you to her niece Dawn McGowan who called her several times a week to chat and check in and her best friend Evelyn Miller who called her nightly while she was still at home and all of the beautiful cards she sent while she was sick.  They would like to also thank her special caretakers at Green Ridge Health Care Center, Katie, Tammy, and Kyra who always took the extra time for her to make her comfortable and content as possible.

She is survived by her daughter Wendy, Bob Cuzzo, her son Wayne and wife Grace, granddaughter Lauren, grandsons Craig Cuozzo , Todd and wife Julie and baby Williams who she was looking forward to meeting when born, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Schimes, sisters Joan Urbanowicz, Elaine Ungvarsky and infant son Timothy
