Julie Surmaitis Prushko, of Shelton, CT previously of Throop and Trumbull, CT entered into rest on Friday June 6, 2025 at Apple Rehab Hewitt surrounded by her family in Shelton, CT.

Born in Dickson City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Josephine Wichowski Surmaitis.  She graduated from Dickson City High School in 1944.  After her marriage in 1947, she moved to Connecticut and lived there for 53 years.  After retirement, she moved back to Throop, PA, the place she always referred to as home.

She is survived by her son Bernard Prushko, Jr. of Shelton, CT, three grandchildren, Danielle (Christopher) Sullivan of Monroe, CT, Kara (Matthew) Lanziero, CT, Scott Prushko of Wallingford, CT, five great grandchildren, Julian, Eliza, Bryce, Alana, and Emily, several cousins, nieces and nephews, and close cousins Rita Priorielli of Dickson City, PA and Delores Graham of Coopersburg, PA

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bernard Prushko, Sr, of 73 years, and her brothers, Edward (Helen) Surmaitis and Walter (Lucy) Surmaitis.

Viewing will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025 from 8:30 a.m. to  9:30 a.m. at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc., 445 Sanderson St.,Throop, PA.  A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, 200 Delaware Ave, Olyphant, PA. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Dickson City, PA.
