Joan (Negvesky) Mazak, 90, died Wednesday May 27, 2026. She was the wife of Michael R. Mazak Sr. They were marrried in St.Stephen's Lutheran Church,Dickson City by the late pastor Rev. Dr. Paul Rafaj in 1960 and had celebrated over 65 years of marriage.
Born in Peckville, the daughter of the late John and Lena (Mokan) Negvesky, she was a graduate of the Blakely School District, graduating in the class of 1954. She also graduated from Scranton Business School, Scranton.
After graduation she was employed as a private secretary at Cornell University, Ithaca N.Y. and also at Westinghouse, Baltimore MD. Before returning home to be married.
She was a former member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Dickson City, and Peace Lutheran Church, Scranton and lived in Dickson City most of her married life.
She is survived by two daughters: Michele R. Wilson, South Abington Twp., and Debra J. and husband Steven Brzozowski, Olyphant; a son Michael R.II and wife Stacey, White Plains, MD.; two grandsons, Adam Jacob Brzozowski and Zachary Charles Wilson; and a granddaughter, Olivia Grace Brzozowski. Many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her twin sister Jean Wilson and husband Bill Wilson and brother Albert Negvesky.
Funeral are entrusted to The John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc., Throop and are private at the convenience of the family.
