James Boyd, a resident of Clarks Summit, passed away on Wednesday while receiving hospice care at Celebration Villa surrounded by his loving family at his side.  Born in Queens, New York, he was the son of the late James and Anne Boyd,  He was also devoted husband to the late Margaret Nolte Boyd.  He was a veteran in the Marine Corp during the Korean War and employed before  and until retirement at the Operating Engineers Local 14, NYC.

He was a loving brother to William and wife ,Arlene.  Also preceded in death his brother Bud.  James was a loving father to his daughter Jacqueline Popson and her husband Gary and his son James Boyd and his wife Jessie.  He was a devoted father figure to his three granddaughters, Nicole Stefanowicz and her husband Jason, Danielle Cardinale and Jennifer Sharp and her husband Kyle.  He is also survived by his grandson, Ryan Boyd and four great grandchildren, Grayson and Madison Stefanowicz and Owen and Oliver Sharp.

His passion in life was golf and he played on two golf leagues until the age of 92.  He was a  kind and loving and generous man and he will be missed by all that knew him.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. with a blessing service at 4:30 p.m.
