Irene A. Guarino, 92 , of Throop, passed away peacefully at Green Ridge Care Center.  She was the widow of Vincent J. Guarino who preceded her in death on October 26, 1981.

She was born in Throop to the Late Joseph and Anna Bobcheck Kassay.  Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years in the garment industry and most recently at Sam's Club in Dickson City.

She is survived by her Daughter Sandra Legos and Husband Edwin of Throop, and son James "Chipper" Guarino and wife Linda of Blakely.

She leaves behind three grandchildren, Jeffrey Legos and wife Susan of Lower Gwynedd,PA, Jennifer Kropa and Husband Steven of Archbald, and Tony Guarino of Blakely.  Also, five great-grandchildren, Gavin and Sophia Legos, Brett and Brooke Kropa and Elijah Guarino. Sister in Law Josephine Guerrieri, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by siblings, Joseph and Steve Kassay , Anna Simone, and Mary Ferrese.

Irene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.  She  was an avid Yankees fan and never missed watching their games.  She also enjoyed trips to the casinos.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Green Ridge Care Center, and especially Katie and Dan Reilly at Allied Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that they gave during this difficult time.
