Mrs. Irene Ditchkus, 95 of Dickson City, PA, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2022.  Irene was born on May 11, 1927 to John and Mary Havirlak, Olyphant ,PA. She attended Olyphant High School.  In 1944, Irene met her husband, Joe, when he was home for leave from the US Navy. They were married in June 1946, and went on to have four children.  During their long marriage, mom and dad loved to travel throughout the United States visiting with family and friends.  They enjoyed numerous Sundays dancing the Polka at the former Weldwood with friends.

Irene was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joe, her grand-daughter Jessica Ditchkus, her parents and her sister Marie Boro, and brothers Paul, John, George and Peter Havirlak.  She is lovingly survived by her children Joan Evans (Alan), Scott Township, Joe (Mary), Lake Ariel, Bill (Nancy), Oceanside, CA , and Bob (Susan), Scranton, PA.  She was loved and adored by her five grandchildren and 11 grandchildren who referred to her as "grandma-grandma," also a sister-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Ditchkus, and many nieces and nephews.

Irene's funeral will be held on December 10,2022, at St. Nicholas Church, where she was also baptized and married.  Visitation will be at the church at East Lackawanna Ave., Olyphant,PA  AT 9 A.M., followed by funeral services at 10 A.M. Interment will be at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Blakely, PA
