Obituary

Remembering the Life of Giadanna Muto

Giadanna (Gia,Gia Bug,Gigi,G) Mia Muto,18,passed away on November 13, 2022,with her family by her side after battling cancer since she was 12.  Gia had a sheer positive ripple effect on the universe.  She was a bright light even in her darkest days.  Her heart was big.  She was deeply committed to fairness and kindness.  She had the kindest soul, was so courageous, and was so loved by so many but no one loved her more than her parents Carlene and Tom, her sister Joalaina, and her little Yorkie, Nellie.  Together they celebrated life spending time at the beach, New Hope, Peddler's Village, winter trips to Hershey, light up night in Pittsburgh, Christmas trips to NYC, and traveled to Rome, Florence and the beautiful Amalfi coast for her "Make a Wish".  Gia had a beautiful voice.  Her choir took 1st place in competition in Toronto, and her A cappella group performed at many events, but her 1st love was cheerleading at Tiger Pride, North Allegheny, Wexford PA and being an All Star cheerleader, just like her sister.  Her most recent passion was baking, always creating beautifully decorated complex desserts.

Gia was selected to attend the Health & Medical Sciences Academy (HMSA) at Monticello High School in Charlottesville, Virginia.  At Monticello she also participated in cheer, drama productions and was a group leader at YADAPP (Youth Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Project).  She graduated from Council Rock South, Holland Pennsylvania as a Council Rock Scholar (top 10%) with a GPA OF 4.6.  She was  accepted at multiple universities but unfortunately her disease progression prohibited her from attending.  Gia's bucket list included living in Philadelphia.  She and her sister shared an apartment in the Charming Queen Village.  Their brownstone is mingled with art galleries, groovy shops and hip eateries.  Her parents' greatest contribution to this universe will not be something they did, it will be someone they raised.

In addition to her parents and sister, Gia is loved and lives on through her Grandfather, Joseph Longo, (Olyphant) Grandparents, MaryAnn and Albert Muto, (Throop); many supportive aunts, uncles, and cousins ; best friend Maddy Witakonis; her second family, the Bradley's; and many others who loved her deeply.
