Elaine M. Slaboda, 82, of Throop, Died Monday evening at home, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease.

Born in Throop, daughter of the late Stephen and Frances Novack Slaboda. She was a 1960 graduate of Throop High School.  Elaine received an Associate in Science Degree from Lackawanna Junior College and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Marywood University.  Prior to her retirment she was employed at RCA/Thompson Consumer Electronics.

Elaine enjoyed golfing, bowling, trips to the casino, and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed her Broadway Theater Shows and traveling with family and friends.  She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Surviving are her sisters Maryann Coviello and husband Anthony, Throop; Carol Wargo and husband Joseph, Olyphant; sister-in-law, Marge Slaboda; 11 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.  She was preceded in death by her brother Stephen J. Jr.

The family extends special thanks to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, for their extraordinary care and compassion, and also all of her personal care givers who spent numerous hours with her over the past several months.

Viewing will be held Monday April 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 445 Sanderson St Throop. A mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish at St. Anthony's Church, 215 Rebecca St. Throop. Interment St. John's Cemetery Throop.

All those attending mass are asked to go directly to church.
