February 18, 1954 – February 27, 2025
Edward 'Eb' Baigis, 71, of Throop, passed on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Geisinger CMC with his family at his side, after injuries sustained from a fall. His loving wife of 47 years is Sue (Bowden) Baigis.
Edward was born in Scranton on February 18, 1954 and was the son of the Late Anthony and Barbara Stefanik Baigis. He was a 1972 graduate of Mid Valley High School and worked at RCA Consumer Electronics until it's closure. He then earned his associate degree in Diesel Truck Technology from Johnson College, awarded with highest honors. He pursued and enjoyed excavating & construction until his retirement where he established many friendships.
Eb was well-known for his quick wit and humor. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, ATV's, woodworking, working on various house projects with his dedicated son, Brian, and tinkering in his mancave-The Garage. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Also surviving are his son, Brian Baigis, Jefferson Township; daughter Kristen DePietro and husband Michael; beloved grandson, Claudio, Olyphant; brother Thomas Baigis, Clarks Summit. As well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Anthony and Joseph Baigis.
Viewing for family and friends will be Sunday March 9th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:OO p.m. while services begin at 3:30 at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc.,445 Sanderson St., Throop
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Throop Methodist Church.
