Donna M. Johnson, 74, of Throop passed away on July 21, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.  Born September 22,1948 in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late John J., Sr. and Helen Kashmer.  Educated in Dunmore schools, Donna was employed by Nutriton, Inc. as a cook for Mid-Valley Secondary Center, where she worked for 40 years until retirement in 2020.

To know Donna was to love her and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts.  She was a pillar of strength and support to family and friends.  She was always quick with a joke and had an incredible ability to listen and to offer her best advice.  She was an avid Earnhardt racing fan and enjoyed attending Nascar races with her husband.  She was an incredible baker and even better cook.  She transformed her house for every holiday and included Polish traditions every chance she could.  In later years, Donna and her husband spent their summer weekends RV camping and following their grandsons in dirt car racing.

Donna is survived by her husband David G; daughters Lisa Rochinski and Kimberly; two grandsons, Nick Rochinski and fiancee' Michelle Miles and Kyle Rochinski; and great-grandchildren Myla and Carter, all of whom she adored.  Also surviving are nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her beloved dog Rudy.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her Aunt Mary Mattie who helped raise her; her uncle Andrew Mattie; her brother John J. Kashmer, and her nephew Jeffrey Kashmer.

The family would like to thank the staff of Traditional Hospice for their kind and compassionate care and all of our family and friends for their unwavering love and support during this most difficult time.

Funeral services will be held at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc. 445 Sanderson St Throop Friday, July 28 2023 at 10 a.m. Friends and family may pay their respects Thursday July 27, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m. A blessing service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Her legacy of kindness and resilience will forever inspire us to treasure the bonds of family and may her memory continue to be a source of strength, comfort, and inspiration to all of us.
