Obituary

Deborah Gail Gerrity,69, of Scott Township died after a long and courageous battle with lymphoma on Saturday morning September 17,2022, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.  She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Martin P. Gerrity.  Born in Dickson City, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Virginia Werner Halenda.  She was a graduate of Mercidian School of Nursing.  She was a nurse at Moses Taylor Hospital of over 40 years where she prided herself in providing compassionate care to her patients and made countless friends that she was proud to call family.  Debbie loved going out to eat with her family and friends going to the beach and having parties at her house.  She loved her two dogs, Bella and Sadie and her cat Magic, who faithfully stayed by her side during her illness.

Surviving is a son Kevin Francis Gerrity, Scott Township, brother-in-law Joseph Gerrity and wife Arlene, Dickson City ,a sister-in-law Denise Gerrity, Kennett Square,and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her in-laws Edward and Grace Gerrity and her brother-in-law Don Gerrity.

The family would like to thank the health care providers at VNA Hospice and Home Health, Allied Services Transitional Care Unit and Hospice of the  Sacred Heart.
