Obituary

David F. Harhut, 73, of New Milford, passed away peacefully at Hospice of the Sacred Heart.  He is survived by his wife Darlene Frankovsky Harhut.

Born in Peckville to the late Thomas and Bertha Anulewicz Harhut, Dave was a part of the last graduating class of Blakely High School and a proud member of the Blakely Bears football team under the leadership of the late "Papa Bear" Henzes.  Dave was an outstanding tailback and was known as #44 as fans from all over traveled to see him play.  After graduation, Dave attended Mansfield University, Dave began his career working with the Blakely Borough.  He then started a long and distinguished career of over 30 years at Lockheed Martin, Archbald, PA.  He enjoyed going to work and made many long lasting friendships there.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman.  He loved to hunt and fish. When not outside, Dave loved to watch his favorite Philadelphia teams, the Phillies and the Eagles.

Dave was a talented craftsman and built his own log cabin alongside his wife.  He was always the first to lend a hand with home improvement projects.

He is survived by a son Andrew and daughter Michelle; two brothers, Chester (Carolyn), Mark (Lisa); two sisters Janet Rembecki and Donna Abdalla (David); three stepchildren, Bonnie Granza (Jeff), Frank Scanlon (Suzanne), Andrew Scanlon (Debbie); grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother Richard and brother-in-law John "Jake" Rembecki.

The family will hold a private ceremony at the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc. Throop
