Charles J. Hazelton Sr., 74, of Olyphant passed away peacefully on October 10, 2023 at River View Nursing Home.  Charles had many nicknames Chas, Chuck, Buster and most importantly Dad and Pop.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and worked for New Jersey Transit.  He was always the life of the party and an avid Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Phillies fan.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charles Hazelton and Margaret Higgins Hazelton, brothers Bill Hazelton, Gary Hazelton, Martin Hazelton and a sister Debbie Rabiega.  He is also survived by his wife Sylvia Hazelton of Olyphant, son Thomas Kohut and wife Debbie and daughter Brianna, Daughter Marilou Kohut, Son Charles Hazelton Jr, wife Rebecca, daughters Alexis and Mia, son Jeff Hazelton wife Kimberly, daughters Kaitlyn and Alyssa, Great grandson LJ, sisters Linda, Peggy, Kim, Darlene, and Donna, brothers Jerome and Mark, sister in law Debbie Hazelton, and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice, especially nurse Jen, and all of his favorite aides and nurses at River View that put a smile on his face.

There will be a celebration of life at the American Legion Post 570, 402 2nd St. in Blakely on Friday October 27 from  4pm-8pm.  All are welcome to come out and share memories and remember the good times.
