Anthony W. Mecca, 86 of Throop ,PA , passed away on Friday January 19, 2024 at Geisinger CMC Hospital, Scranton, PA.  Born in Dunmore, PA, he was the son of the Late Angelo Charles and Catherine Coviello Mecca.  Anthony was preceded in death by his loving wife, of 54 years, Phyllis (Laird), brother, Leonard Mecca, sisters Lucie Sommers, Sr. Ann Maire Mecca and his son-in-law John Sosik.  He is survived by his sister Diane Coolbaugh and brother-in-law Raymond, Dunmore, PA. Daughters: Janice Sosik, Laurys Station, PA, Ruth Mecca and son-in-law Mark Hutzky, Madison Twp. PA, Sons; Mark Mecca and daughter-in-law Rita, Delmar, MD and Karl Mecca and Daughter-in-law Teri, Cabot, AR, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Anthony's first priority was to ensure his family was well taken care of.  His devotion as a loving husband and father were beyond reproach.  He was a professional truck driver for over 50 years and retired from Roadway Trucking Co.  Anthony also proudly served his country as a Motor Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps at Camp LeJeune, NC and was decorated with National Defense Service and Good Conduct Medals and honorably discharged in 1957.  He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop, PA.  His legacy is reflected in his children and grandchildren by their kindness and loving manner along with a drive for success.  Anthony was deeply loved and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
