Anna Mae Muto, 85, of Throop, passed away peacefully on January 12 surrounded by her loving family.  Mae was born on December 22, 1937 to  the late Stephen and Anna Mistysyn . In 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, the late Donald Muto.  Together they raised four beautiful children.  After graduating from Throop High School in 1955, she spent more than forty years working for the Mid-Valley School District.  She was also employed by Dailey Resources, Dunmore.  Mae was a devoted wife who cared for her husband during his twenty-five year illness prior to his passing in 2002.  During their time together, they enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.  Mae loved spending time with her family, especially attending countless sporting events, school concerts, and dance recitals.  Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought so much joy to her life.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mae is preceded in death by her brother Harry Mistysyn.  She is survived by daughter, Donna Butash and  husband John, son Ken Muto and companion Jean Churilla; son Michael Muto and companion Jody Daniels; daughter Shari Kenny and husband,Rick; and former daughter-in-law Kathy Muto.  Mae is also survived by grandchildren Kristal (Jonathan), Jenna (Joseph), Kenny (Heather), Ali, Kory, Bridget (Jason), Diana (Bryan), Ryan, Jason, Karli and Michael; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Mae's family would like to extend their utmost gratitude to Dr. Julie Speicher, Dr. Kishori, and the staff at Hematology/Oncology, Dunmore, as well as the staff of Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and compassion for Mae in her final days.
