Alexander "Alex" Profka, 83, of Jessup died January 23 at Geisinger Communtiy Medical Center. He was a devoted husband,
loving uncle, and loyal friend who will be missed by all that knew him.
Al was born on June 21, 1938 and attended Central High School,class of 1956. He was a graduate of Keystone Junior College,
and served with the U.S.Navy.
He entered the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and graduated in December 1964. At first Trooper then Detective, Al later served as
Fire Marshall for Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties. He retired from the State Police in 1991.
Most recently Al was an origin and cause fire investigator with James F. Valentine ad Associates.
He is preceded in death by this wife Eleanor, his parents Alex Profka Sr and Julia and brother William.
He is survived by his large extended family, brother in laws Richard and wife Maggi Manasek, and family,
David Manasek and Wife Michelle and family.
Sister in Laws Loretta Radzwilowicz and Husband Ted and family
Carol Crider and Family
Bonnie Kranick & Dr.Paul Menzel and family. He leaves behind generations of nieces and nephews who could never forget their Uncle Al.
Al could always be counted on for bringing pizza at Thanksgiving, golfing if it was not too hot outside, breakfast club every morning and
Friday Night dinners with the Burkes. He knew every road in the state of PA, could fix anything with his handy Swiss Army Knife and would
share his opinion on anything if you let him. He was a true friend to all, a buddy and most of all someone you could always rely on.
His family would especially like to thank his many friends who took care of him and were such a meaningful part of his life.
